Marine characterization of access to CALICA harbor, in Quintana Roo, Mexico

Environmental characterization tasks were undertaken to determine the environmental status of the marine access of the CALICA harbor in Quintana Roo, and evaluate its viability as a fuel discharge terminal

AxisIMA® Services:

-Carrying out the marine environmental characterization with emphasis on determining the benthic and coral species, as well as the registry of the existing marine fauna in the area of influence.

-Link the study with the current legal framework to determine the viability of developing a fuel reception and storage terminal, connected to marine reception at CALICA harbor.

Conclusions:

A total of 60 marine species were identified in the area. This work served as a baseline for Environmental Impact Assets (EIA) for the Fuel Storage and Distribution Terminal (TAR) in the “Los Rizos” de Quintana Roo.
